THE WALL

INFO

I passed by this wall by chance and was fascinated by the traces of plants left on it. Only after I had walked away did I realize that it was the deportation detention center in Pforzheim.
It is a wall, a barrier.

This work represents the process of engaging with what this wall symbolizes. There are 3 parts to it:

- wall of photo collage
- a booklet
- analog phots of the deportation detention center

The photo collage is composed of photographs that were taken and then cast from the wall,so that it replicates the wall both visually and in its tactile quality.

The booklet documents this process and explores the subject from three perspectives:
my own, that of a lawyer specializing in migration law, and that of a person who has experienced deportation detention.

It is my attempt to engage in dialogue, to listen, and to look closely.

I invite you to do the same.
Feel the wall that seems to separate realities—and question what that really means.
